Curvesomeyoga is a body positive, inclusive practice that celebrates all body types.
It focuses on gentle, mindful movement that honours the body, no matter what size or shape.
CurvesomeYoga emphasises self-care, understanding, and acceptance of the body. All poses are designed to be accessible and comfortable for all body types, with variations and props available to help make the poses more comfortable. The practice encourages students to explore how the body feels in each pose and to take their time with each pose.
Breathwork is a key part of the practice, helping to keep the mind focused and the body relaxed. CurvesomeYoga also promotes self-acceptance and self-care. It encourages students to embrace their bodies and treat them with kindness and compassion. Through practice, students learn to accept and appreciate their bodies, no matter what size or shape they may be.
At the end of each class, time is set aside for relaxation and contemplation. This helps students to take a moment to appreciate themselves and the progress they have made. Curvesome Yoga is an excellent way to stay active, build strength, and ease stress in a supportive and judgment-free environment. It is the perfect practice for anyone looking to reconnect with their body and find a deep sense of self-love and acceptance.
Curvesomeyoga - Body Positivity
Yoga is a practice that can benefit people of all shapes and sizes, ethnicity and gender, but it can be intimidating for those who don't fit the traditional "yoga body" stereotype.
This is where body positive yoga, or Curvesomeyoga, comes in. Body-positive yoga is all about celebrating and honouring the unique beauty of everybody. It's a safe and welcoming space for people of all sizes to practice yoga without feeling judged or self-conscious.
One of the key principles of body positive yoga is inclusivity. This means that all bodies are welcome, regardless of size, shape, or ability level. There is no one "right" way to do yoga – it's about finding what works for you and your body.
Another important aspect of body positive yoga is self-acceptance. This means learning to love and appreciate your body exactly as it is without trying to change or "fix" it. It's about learning to listen to your body's needs and finding a practice that feels nourishing and supportive.

So, how can you get started with body positive yoga? Here are a few tips:
1. Find a body positive yoga studio or instructor. Look for studios or teachers that specifically mention inclusivity and body positivity in their mission statements or class descriptions.
2. Don't be afraid to offer variations poses. It's okay to use props or adapt poses to make them more comfortable or accessible for your body.
3. Focus on your breath and how the pose feels rather than how it looks. Yoga is about finding balance and relaxation in your body, not about achieving a certain appearance.
4. Remember that yoga is a journey, not a destination. Don't get too caught up in achieving certain poses or progress – just enjoy the present moment and the benefits that yoga brings to your mind and body.
Body positivity yoga is a fantastic way for people of all sizes and shapes to practice yoga in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. It's about inclusivity, self-acceptance, and finding a practice that feels nourishing and supportive for your unique body. So why not give it a try and see how it can benefit you?
